What if we made a free pdf or a Knockspell article from the bloggers who want their material from Swords & Wizardry appreciation day included in such a thing? I have to think through it a bit more, especially if it were to mean that I get going on another issue of Knockspell, but please comment with your thoughts. Even if you're not one of the bloggers who will be participating in the Swords & Wizardry Appreciation Day, would such a thing be fun? Or would it be redundant because you already would have read the blogs?
If you're a blogger, would you be interested in putting your material into a free pdf like that?

I would be so pumped about doing something like that!
ReplyDeleteERIC!
I'd be cool with it.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that would be cool.
ReplyDeleteAs I said at the Tavern, I'd be stoked with either choice, as they are both a win-win for everyone
ReplyDeleteSounds good to me, especially if it results in continuation of Knockspell.
ReplyDeleteTo answer your questions in order:
ReplyDelete"What if we made a free pdf..." - That would be awesome
"would such a thing be fun?" - Very fun, especially for the bloggers involved. I am participating, and love Knockspell - so the idea of being part of the S & W printed "canon" would be very neat.
"Or would it be redundant?" Nah, I prefer the printed source for leisurely reading & collecting.
"If you're a blogger, would you be interested?" Hell yea!
I like the idea of a collection. A PDF would be fine. I never read a single issue if Knockspell, though. I guess, I missed out on those, so a Knockspell issue would probbably get you a new reader. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in favor, so I say "Aye!"
ReplyDeleteI'd be in favor of a PDF collection.
ReplyDeleteI would be in favor of such an endeavor. This could be a annual thing as well, a massive tome created each year. I say get a awesome fellow such as Jez Gordon or one of the folks behind the Secret Santicore project, this way it would be an amazing PDF... possibly print product.
ReplyDeletePerhaps proceeds could be donated to the Gygax fund, would be a shining example of all that exemplifies those of us who proscribe to be "old school"
a yearly event?
Deletehmmm... so crazy it might just work!
Sounds like a good idea to me!
ReplyDeleteSure, even more so in Knockspell.
ReplyDeleteI signed up at the Tavern, so it's cool by me if you want to gank my stuff for a free PDF or Knockspell.

Not redundant, blogs die, civilizations end. A PDF collection means alien anthronauts of the future (whose culture lacks concept of fiction) will get really confused and amazed about the wondrous age of Swords & Wizardry!
ReplyDeleteAnything I post online is posted specifically so it can get "ripped off".
Sounds like a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI am happy with either or both. I am going make my S&W post open open under the OGL.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great idea.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lot easier to save & reuse material from one pdf than 75 blogs. I'm all for it.
ReplyDeleteHow about making a free pdf collection called Knockspell #7? It would be a cool gateway drug that could possibly lead to the continuation of Knockspell.
