Tome of Horrors Stat Blocks 1

Razberry Ranid has done stat blocks for the A-B monsters in the Tome of Horrors (Swords & Wizardry version), and he and I will be working to produce a pdf of all the stat blocks. This project is intended to make it easier for people writing adventures to cut and paste stat blocks into the text of their adventures for quick reference.

I have also added the required Section 15 disclosure for each monster, which is irrelevant to those who are designing adventures for home use, but which provides a good shortcut for those who are publishing a Swords & Wizardry adventure using monsters from the Tome of Horrors, since the OGL requires this disclosure as well. Voila. Done. Just cut-and-paste your legal disclosure into your Section 15.

I would also like to remind everyone that the Tome of Adventure Design is now up for pre-order at FGG.   1. Appreciate this and as onerous the section 15 is that will be a good resource in of itself for those wanting to use these monsters in their products.

  2. Forgive my ignorance, but does the creation of stat blocks here indicate that they do not exist in the actual ToH book?

  3. Erin, the Tome of Horrors uses an AD&D-like format, with each stat on a different line over the top of the monster description. These are just the same stats put into a linear format so that they can be dropped into an adventure.

  6. @ Theodric - thanks, good catch. I did the first part of that sentence by cutting and pasting the identical language, then changing the monster name. Forgot to do the change for the archer bush.
